Holiday Safety Tips

Always keep your vehicle doors locked
Keep your windows rolled up
If you have packages in your vehicle, try to keep them locked in the trunk, or cover them up in the back seat
Keep as few valuables as possible in your vehicle
Park in well lit area's
DO NOT keep remote garage door openers in plain site
DO NOT carry to many packages at one time which may hinder your movement
DO NOT leave pocketbooks/purses unattended in shopping carts
Avoid parking next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted windows.
DO NOT leave your car unoccupied with the motor running or with children inside.
Be sure to locate your keys prior to going to your car.
When approaching or leaving your vehicle, be aware of your surroundings.
Do not approach your car alone if there are suspicious people in the area.
Ask mall security for an escort before leaving your shopping location if you are nervous.
Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
Pay for purchases with a check or credit card if possible.
Notify the credit card company immediately if your credit card is lost, stolen or misused.
Always beware of strangers approaching you for any reason. At this time of year, "con-artists" may try various methods of distracting you with the intention of taking your money or belongings.
